I was close to Dan--we liked each other. I understood his zeal, at times misguided, but didn't fault him for it, since I was aware of the pressure on him to please those over him. I know he meant well--in spite of his ego. I was very saddened by the cruel treatment he experienced in his last days by those who claim to be Christ in the earth. Totally unacceptable...and, in retrospect, I should have left the fellowship then in protest.
