This book was written in 1993. Here is a couple of
excerpts. It is on page 24 under the heading
Aberrant Christian Groups. It speaks of groups
claiming to be Christian but who deviate from
historical Christian doctrines "... This category
includes the Family of Love (Children of
God)......the Church of the Living word ("The
Walk")..."

then on page 32....under Well Known Fringe
Churches...."The Walk" or Church of the Living
Word
"On the surface, this church seems like a typical
charismatic group. It was founded by John Robert
Stevens, however, who taught a version of the
notion that men can become God, that his teaching
constitutes the only true church, and that he and
other ministers of the church can engage in sexual
immorality with some of the female members.


I'm not sure the last sentence was a teaching.
